IEM has added another feather to its hat by a better result this time at WBJEE counselling this year, finishing the business at WBJEE rank- 1666. While the first entry in the ECE department was at rank370, the IT department satrted filling up at rank1307, with the CSE department clinching a candidate of rank505.The result has been better from the last year when ECE started at 676, CSE at 1182 and IT at 1428, while the last entry was at rank1776. During the counselling this year, a very good campaigning was done by the students of IEM at the counselling centre, alongwith some alumnies of the college as well. The exam-boycott of the JU students did not affect the top rankers' choice as most of them chose either ECE, CSE, Electrical or some other branch of JU. Shibpur BE college also continued to be top rankers' choice, with its departments filling up as expectation. But IEM put up a good fight against JU & BEC while other colleges seem to be nowhere around IEM. No other private engg. college could get a candidate until IEM finished its job. IEM continues to be the 'smart choice' of WBJEE rankers. Some students from AIEEE are also set towards their path of IEM as their counselling kick-off.
